I have a diastasis recti from my pregnancy with my daughter. At first, I told myself that it was just extra weight from the pregnancy; however, at my follow-up appointments, it became clear that I had lost all the weight from my pregnancy (and then some!). I couldn’t figure out why I still looked like I was 6 months pregnant. I did a little research and saw my doctor, and learned that I have a diastasis recti. Unfortunately, I was also told that there was little or nothing I could do about this. This was extremely unwelcome news! By total coincidence, I got an email about Sheryl’s Baby Belly Challenge about a week later. It sounded like it might be fun, and the person leading the challenge, Sheryl, sounded super nice, so I decided to participate. Sheryl was a great coach through the challenge, telling us about her own experiences with her diastasis and making herself available to answer questions and provide encouragement. After the challenge ended, I started working with her privately, both in person and online (via Skype). She created a program just for me to target the diastasis, and she makes changes based on my feedback. Every time I work with her, I feel encouraged and better about my body. This has been especially important for me — I was so unhappy with the way I looked, and Sheryl was nothing but sympathetic and kind. I definitely recommend working with Sheryl — she knows her stuff and she’s one of the nicest people I’ve met!!
